Side sleepers need more support for their head and neck than stomach or back sleepers. For this, we recommend mid to high loft pillows, with a medium to firm density. We have an excellent selection of soft and lofty pillows that offer the support needed for side sleepers. Memory foam and latex foam are the options that are going to offer the most structured support, while polyester fill will offer traditional softness while maintaining the support. As down tends to be softer, we recommend a firmer blend with more feather or a down pillow with a feather core, so your head can get the support it needs for maximum comfort.

It depends on the type of pillow and its functionality. We would recommend evaluating your pillows occasionally to test for comfort and support. You can do this by checking to see if the batting or foam inside the pillow is lumpy, or for feather pillows if it can still be properly fluffed enough to offer support. If you are especially prone to allergies then you might want to change your pillow more frequently to avoid dust build up that’s inevitable over time. Bottom line, we would recommend changing your pillows every 2-3 years, and once a year if you have trouble with allergies.

Most pillows can be washed at home. Here are some easy steps for you to follow. Step 1. Wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Step 2. Have the wash on the fastest spin cycle to ring out as much water as possible. Step 3. Dry on low. You will have to run the dryer for a few cycles to insure that the fill on the inside is fully dry! This process can take a few hours. If you are ever unsure how your pillow will hold up in the wash, check the wash instructions on the tag or take it into the dry cleaners. When it comes to foam pillows, you want to make sure you never wash these. You can take off most memory foam pillow cotton covers and wash those, however, only spot clean the foam pillow itself.

Yes! More specifically the pillowcases can cause acne. However, you can prevent acne by changing your pillowcases once a week and wash your pillow at least twice a year. It is always wise to use pillow protectors to help your pillows last longer and stay cleaner. Pillow protectors provide an extra layer between yourself and the pillow. They are also much easier to clean then a pillow.

This is a great questions! It all boils down to moisture. Those gross yellow stains can be caused by sweat, drool, makeup, chemicals or even wet hair. Most the time those yellow stains are harmless, however, if it is paired with a smell, definitely toss it and buy a new pillow. We recommend buying new pillows every 2 years so when you start seeing those yellow stains let it be a reminder to get new pillows soon.

Shipping to Hawaii and Alaska is more expensive due to the additional distance and the lack of access to major shipping routes. Shipping to these states requires additional transportation costs to transport the goods from the mainland. To be honest, most feather and down pillows are not free from allergens. Bedding companies over the years have discovered that dust particles attached to feathers and down, not the feathers/down themselves, cause allergies to flare up. A: This is a common question for our customer service team. People who have been purchasing down and feather pillows for a long time know this natural products can occasionally have a natural odor from the reimnets of oil on the down and feathers. Most common reason this odor happens is moisture or heat on the down. Sometimes during the shipping process your pillow experiences heat and humidity. This will cause the down to release the smell from the oils on the feathers. Duck down and feather have a tendency to do this more than goose down and feather. An easy way to air out the odor is to leave your pillow outside in the fresh air and in the sun. You can also put your pillow in the dryer on low with a dryer sheet and let the dryer air it out for you.
